Dimitri Damiel Kim, Dipl.-Ing. Architektur, AIA. is the founding member and principal of X-Lab, a trans-disciplinary and collaborative design/research practice, working in all scales of projects in architecture, graphic, product, urban, and experiential environment.Strategically urban-focused, their most recent work includes ‘Eco Pylon’, a prototype floating, renewable energy generator for the urban waterfront (Lexus Design Award 2017), ‘Wellness Park’, a health-conscious public park for the low-income families in NYC District 5 (Design Trust for Equitable Public Space 2018), and brand/experiential space for 'Wells Fargo' bank in Hudson Yard (High Line 2020).A consummate provocateur, Dimitri regularly contributes to critical discourse in design and architecture through built work, exhibitions, writing, and teaching. He was a fellow of Columbia University’s design and technology incubator, GSAPP Inc. at the New Museum and has previously taught at CUNY, FIT, NJIT, NYSID, Parsons, University of Utah, and the University of Hawaii.
