I started working with individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities in 2005 when I volunteered at an autism clinic in China. Since then, I have worked as a special education teacher, RBT, direct support professional at a group home, and a research professor at two universities, and a BCBA at schools.What keeps me going is the desire to serve and advocate for my students and families, who have shown unimaginable love and perseverance. My career goal is to bridge the research-practice gap by working with teachers, employment specialists, and parents to develop effective interventions that have high usability and feasibility. I hold a special education license from MN, KS, and AL and Ph.D. in special education from the University of MN. I completed my BCBA training at the University of Kansas.
