➢ Supervision of different contractors working for the Cable pulling, Termination/Installation, Acceptance Testing and Maintenance of the optic fibre cables for the Metro OSP roll out and for the existing local fiber network from EMTS Abuja Regional office to other vendors (MTN Nigeria, Airtel, Globacom & Multilinks). ➢ Perform fibre splicing and acceptance testing of optic fibre, may it be on National Exchanges (Nitel Exchange Abuja) Cabinets, MER/MDF, Riser, Manholes, Offices, etc ➢ Attend optic fibre cable failure/breakdown during and after office hours by carrying out investigation and the restoration process in compliance with the SLA for Multilinks Nigeria. ➢ Install Fiber Optic Splitter, Fiber Patching & End to end testing for the Corporate Fiber-to-the-Business establishment, from CO(OLT) to customers(ONT). ➢ Attend site meeting and survey of work sites. ➢ End to end testing of fiber optic cables used for DWDM, SDH/SONET, Metro-E, GPON, and other dark fiber circuits. ➢ Fiber optics splicing of tight and loose tube fibers (2F, 6F, 12F, 24F, 48F, 96F, 192F, and 288F core).➢ Testing of fiber cables using OTDR, Power Meter, OFL, Light Source, VFL, Fiber Video Probe test equipments. ➢ Handle structured cabling projects for data and voice using (CAT 5, 5E, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cables). ➢ Hands-on experience on installation, termination, and troubleshooting of different network cables with any brand like NEXANS, AMP, AVAYA, SYSTIMAX, etc. ➢ Work on fiber optic splicing (fusion) of loose tube fiber cables with up to 24 core used for backbone link. Connector termination of SC, ST, LC and FC. ➢ Testing and commissioning of fiber optic cable installed for the backbone linked to inside premises.➢ Installation of UTP and fiber patch panels, switches, and other network peripherals in the network racks. ➢ Installation of CCTV camera that includes cabling, mounting of bracket and camera, powering, and digital video recorder set up.
