Xu Han is a Sr. Software Engineering Manager at Zebra Technologies at Zebra Technologies. He possess expertise in software. I know how trite this can sound because this is what managers are supposed to do, but Xu walks the talk in a way that few ever can. Xu never complains. By the time he came to me with a problem, he had already done 10 things in an attempt to resolve it and really needed help. And if Xu thought it was a problem, it was always a genuine problem. In spite of leading a team that takes on a ton of daily operational work, Xu leans into vision. He looks to the future and anticipates problems. Xu's forward thinking brought Kubernetes into Fetch long before it was an obvious choice. When we proposed a vision for simplifying our overall architecture, Xu was one of the first engineers to understand the sweeping advantages. Xu's integrity is of the highest caliber. I'm not just talking about honesty and impeccability. He is extremely smart and observant, and he uses that skill to anticipate the consequence of potential decisions and acts to avoid integrity-breaking situations. He reminds me of a poster I once saw that said, "The superior sailor uses his superior intellect to avoid having to use his superior skill." Xu is like that. More than once he saved me from myself when I was about to do something that would not have had the result I imagined. Xu sees stuff. He's very observant and clear eyed. Once I figured this out, I began to rely more and more on his point of view. He sees through nonsense and theater.
