About Harry Xu

As the CEO of BreezeML, a startup that builds the platform for AI governance and trust, a Full Professor of Computer Science at UCLA, and an ACM Distinguished Scientist, I have over 15 years of experience in developing and applying cutting-edge techniques for data analytics and artificial intelligence.     I have been working with Matthew Arnold in Dynamic Optimization Group, and Nick Mitchell and Gary Sevitsky in Intelligent Application Analysis Group on projects related to automated bloat detection/removal in large-scale Java applications. Particularly, I am the investigator and the lead developer of two JVM-based projects aimed at detecting runtime bloat using heavyweight profiling. The tools developed have been shown to be useful in helping a programmer to quickly find performance problems in large scale Java applications. These projects have led to two PLDI publications in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
