Xuru (Chichi) Zhao is a visual designer based in Boston and Shanghai. Currently, she is pursuing her MFA in Graphic Design at Boston University. While earning her BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design, she co-founded the design studio "World of Brain" in China. Many of her works reflect on social phenomena that are often overlooked or neglected, challenging stereotypes that persist in today’s society. Drawing from her cultural background as a Chinese designer and her interests in human health and nature, she provides a unique perspective in her work. Her eclectic passion for graphic books, printing, and typography results in visually appealing outcomes of self-expression and public communication. Simplicity, bold colors, and digital media direct her aesthetic, offering alternatives that transcend traditional graphic design. Beyond design, she enjoys gaming and traveling.
