Teach Apache History and Introduction to Western Civilization I/II in addition to serving as Liaison to the Board of Regents. Advise students, administer exams, give lectures, and issue grades.

Introduction to Western Civilization 101 and 102: History of the world from 1492 to contemporary times: religious wars, the Industrial Revolution; economies of scale; colonialism and post-colonialism; Enlightenment political theory including that of the “Noble Savage”; the rise of republics and civil rights; paradigms of science and technology; ideologies of prejudice and genocide; and globalization. Special focus on the struggles of indigenous people in the Age of Empire.

POS110 - US National Politics: Explores the History of the US Constitution and interpretations of that document (past and present). Analyses constitutional civil liberties and civil rights for minorities, the uniqueness of American Federalism, the American political process (media, public opinion, political parties and elections), and the principles and structure of American national government, and how that government makes policy.

Wrote and edited numerous educational titles for young people. Specialized in history, but also wrote biographies, sports, technology, and more.

Manage editorial projects for major educational publishers such as Holt McDougal, Prentice Hall, and Glencoe/McGraw Hill from inception to completion; hire and manage freelance writers; write and edit supplementary teaching materials; coordinate between development, design and composition departments to ensure completion of manuscript; conduct fact checking, permissioning, and research for the following projects:• U.S. History -- textbooks, worksheets and teacher’s editions; high school level• World History -- textbook, study guides; high school level• Literature -- teacher’s editions; 8th, 9th, and 10th grade levels; in charge of Florida state editions• North Carolina History -- textbook, teacher’s edition; 8th grade level• Economics -- teacher’s editions; high school level• Life Skills -- student edition; high school levelTypes of components and activities I have written and edited include:• Numerous ancillaries to textbooks, including tests, quizzes, study guides, and document-based assessments.• Differentiated instruction activities for English language learners, struggling students, advanced learners, and learners who are visually, orally, kinesthetically, or spatially oriented.• Chapter summaries for both on level and below level students.• Graphic organizers• Activities and materials that meet state standards and different grade levels.

Taught California History - developed syllabus and lectures, graded papers, and held office hours.

Wrote historical abstracts for ABC-Clio, Santa Barbara, CA. Developed a historical interpretive manual and conducted volunteer training session for Pasadena-based Heritage Square Museum’s yard and garden exhibit. Completed press releases and other writing projects for local nonprofit agencies.
