Hi, I am Ya-Ching, a nursing PhD student at the University of Manchester. My PhD project aimed to explore factors influencing Taiwanese lesbians' breast healthcare behaviour and intentions, by using a sequential exploratory mixed methods study design. Taiwanese lesbians' gender identity, gender role expression, their partners' support and their concerns about patient-provider interaction were found associated with the women's breast healthcare behaviour and intentions. The findings suggest the importance of culturally competence care provided by healthcare providers and information about breast cancer and breast cancer screenings provided to the the subgroup.
