In a container terminal logistical system, containers are transported between vessels and yard blocks, where the efficiency of this system highly depends on the scheduling, interaction, and cooperation of the quay crane(QC), vehicle, yard crane(YC)) with their respective working principles and constraints in a practical system. My responsibilities include the job schedule optimization of YC, QC, and vehicles using various optimization algorithms (including A*, Dynamic Programming, etc.) and data structures (e.g., TRIE, Hash Table, etc.) realized in real-time. I also improved the heuristic algorithm (ATCRSS, Tabu search) to find a near-optimal solution that was used to reduce the computational cost. Substantial improvements on the efficiency of container terminal has been achieved with results published in top journals and conferences (including a best paper award), and the solutions were also considered for industrial adoption.
