Free Malaya's mission is to equip schools and their educators with queerly responsive tools, resources, and professional learning that help champion and amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ students to empower them to embrace and develop their queer identities.

The program provides a concentrated focus on cultivating an equity mindset for transforming San Diego’s urban schools into places of excellence and innovation.

Founded the first Speech and Debate high school program where students gained recognition in their respective Individual Events in Speech (Dramatic Interpretation, Original Prose and Poetry, Impromptu, Storytelling, and Thematic Interpretation) at the regional competitions within the Tri-County Forensic League.Coach a group of 15 students in exploring relevant and culturally responsive topics that ranges from how to consider ethical business decisions and practices to social justice issues such as race and gender inequity.Devise and execute strategic recruitment plans to capture student interest in a rigorous extracurricular activity that require afterschool and weekend committments.
