Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has shown limited efficacy against solid tumors primarily due to low trafficking to the tumor, restricted cell expansion, tumor antigen heterogeneity, and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.At NeoTX I lead a group of scientists that demonstrated that the combination of CAR-T with a certain drug in B16F10 tumor model (mice) can effectively address the limitations of current CAR-T therapy. The ex-vivo analysis further elucidated the positive impact of the drug on CAR-T cell persistence, proliferation, and activity. These results provide valuable insights for the development of improved strategies for CAR-T therapy, paving the way for enhanced treatment options in solid tumors.

This project aimed to reduce the on-target off-tumor toxicity of CAR-T.I joined this company from its foundation and was involved in transferring the abstract idea into an experimental scheme, established the assays, analyzed the data and successfully demonstrated an in vitro proof of concept. I was involved in decisions regarding choosing the indications and suitable patients and how to resolve the potential problems of the technology.
