As a spring 2020 graduate Florida A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, I am seeking an opportunity to apply the mechanical engineering skills that I have obtained from the prestigious FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. I welcome the chance to be a valued member of an innovative team in a dynamic organization. As a student in the engineering program I have worked with mechanical engineering professors and students from two prestigious universities. I’ve been able to capitalize on the capabilities and research of my resident school and Florida State University. During my matriculation, I designed a sterling engine using the Creo ProE Software and worked in the machine shop to create custom parts for the sterling engine. My final product was fully assembled and operational. In addition to this, I designed and created a number of other tools and apparatuses. While I used Creo ProE to design the motor, I am proficient in using over 15 other technical program and machining tools. My design projects were not limited to building devices but included assignments that required critical visioning to re-design existing structures and configurations. For example, I designed a pop-up classroom that allowed for educational instruction outside of the standard classroom setting. The classroom that I designed promoted interactivity between the instructors and the students. Moreover, it was nomadic and was able to travel off road on moderate terrains. Additionally, I have spent two summers working with KA-BAR, Inc where I gained invaluable knowledge and experience. As a summer intern I was able to apply and enhance my engineering skills as well as gain a well-rounded view of manufacturing for a specialty industry. During my time at KA-BAR I was able to engage in some exciting projects related to and initiatives in the military/utility knives industry and to local site improvement. As you will see from my resume, I have been building a solid foundation in similar work and look forward to the opportunity to both learn and contribute to your organization’s goals in the future. I look forward to the anticipated challenges, opportunities and gratification associated with integrating and applying the engineering skill that I have obtained, while continuing to gain invaluable expertise in an innovative work environment.
