Special Assets Management (SAM) is a critical function in the banking and financial services industry. As Heading the SAM, my job is to lead teams of Corporate Restructuring and Recovery,Retail Recovery and Collection and litigation that manages the bank's non-performing assets (NPAs), distressed assets, My primary responsibility is to minimize the bank's losses on such assets while maximizing recoveries.My main Job Duties and Responsibilities:* Develop and implement strategies for the resolution of NPAs, distressed assets, and loans under restructuring in a manner that maximizes the bank's returns and minimizes losses.* Build and manage a high-performing team of SAM professionals who are skilled in debt resolution, debt restructuring, and asset management.* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as borrowers, investors, regulators, and external service providers.* Manage the SAM budget, track expenses, and ensure that all expenditures are within the approved budget.* Analyze asset portfolios and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risks and improve recoveries.* Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to SAM activities.* Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to SAM activities and ensure that they are updated regularly.* Provide regular reports to senior management and other stakeholders on the performance of the SAM function.* Work closely with other departments within the bank to identify opportunities for cross-selling and collaboration.* Keep abreast of market trends, new products, and emerging risks in the SAM space.

Key responsibilities:• Responsible for the growth and development of the Bank’s Large Corporate & Strategic Clients through the provision of market leading products and services within the framework of sound risk management principles.• Develop overall strategy and business plans for the Large Corporate including definition of target customers. • Assume full management responsibility for the business unit and control over its P&L. • Conduct regular performance reviews against budget and acts as escalation point as required to improve customer satisfaction.• Strengthen the Large Corporate & Strategic Clients capabilities through adoption of Corporate banking best practices and hiring of experienced business managers. • Develop the function’s strong management team through effective recruitment, training, coaching and mentoring and groom potential successors by identifying and promoting fast track candidates.• Ensure proper target setting and staff performance appraisal against assigned targets in line with the Bank's performance management guidelines.• Work with Risk Department to ensure compliance with regulations and market practices related to Corporate banking

Establishing the first full operation Islamic Bank in Libya with a capital of USD 500 MM .The Bank is a joint venture between Qatar Investment Authority and the Libyan Foriegn Bank.
