Welcome to amysticwriter.com! I teach #mindfulness and #selfcompassion. I am also a #writer in English and Spanish, a #translator, #editor, and #proofreader in both languages about these topics. My mission is to relieve suffering in beautiful and creative ways through words that inspire, encourage and heal. I teach and write from the heart, edit to the essential, and translate from the soul. In 2019 I became a graduate of the first class of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. I am part of the first live class. The certification was awarded by the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California at Berkeley in association with Sounds True. I hold a professional certification from the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). I finished the Mindfulness Mentorship Training Program (MMT) with Kornfield and Brach, and I recently completed the Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy Program at the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies in California with teachers Gil Fronsdal, Kirsten Rudestam, Ram Appalaraju and Susie Harrington. I have been teaching mindfulness since 2018.For almost a decade, I served as a radio and news agency reporter. I have been awarded by the Puerto Rico Journalists Association, the Overseas Press Club and the Laura Rivera Melendez Foundation. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of the Sacred Heart with a Bachelor in Arts of Communication (Puerto Rico, 1999) and hold two Masters in Scriptwriting. I am one of the founders of the Mystic Poets Society in Unity Village, Missouri, and former Associate Editor of The Daily Word Magazine / La Palabra Diaria. I currently work as a Newsela, Inc. Top Editor, Leveler and Quiz Editor; as a Unity World Headquarter Translator and Editor; as an Al-Anon Family Groups, Inc. Spanish Translator, and as a translator, editor and proofreader for independent authors.
