Chief ExecutiveLancaster District Community Voluntary Solutions Oct 2014 - PresentLancaster District CVS works to represent, promote and develop local voluntary and community organisations across Lancaster district and Central Lancashire. We have offices in Lancaster and Preston offering a range of voluntary sector services. We aim to strengthen the sector, build partnerships and influence local policy. We provide a wide range of services that enables charitable organisations to grow and deliver. We offer IT support, specialised training programmes for volunteers and paid staff, funding and social enterprising information, providing a range of financial services including payroll and independent examinations and finally the largest volunteering brokerage scheme. We currently manage over 900 volunteer applications and looking to place these in the interest of their work. We aim to support everyone working in the charitable sector especially those working with hard to reach groups. We have over 1000 members and we are dedicated to protecting the work the charity sector offers in the areas we work in.

Volunteer & DirectorLancashire Youth Challenge Nov 2012 - PresentChanging the lives of disadvantaged young people, aged 13-19 through weekly support programs and life changing expeditions. Examples include cycling (achieved Lancaster to Edinburgh in 3 days), cycling from Blackpool Tower to Eiffel Tower, conquering the Yorkshire 3 peaks, National 3 peaks, canoeing the Great Caladonian Canal and walking the length of Hadrian Wall. We are committed to supporting over 3 years helping young people throughout their youth. Our other work includes nutrition programme, gym based training, training and development, mentoring, counselling, team building workshops and working towards Silver Duke of Edinburgh award. Highlights have included meeting Jason Quealy, 2 times Gold Olympic winner at London Olympics, Project of the year by Sport England and improving the lives of local young people.
