One of the executive staff responsible for documentation and presentations used for capital fund raising and sales efforts at public events including industry conferences. C2Rewards was acquired in 2014.

As Microsoft moved into the Software + Services model, I was one of the founders of the centralized rating and billing stream for Microsoft's Online business services. Over the course of four years, we:1. Provided the rating, billing and customer platform for market leading products including Office 365 and Azure, growing from essentially zero to multiple billions in revenue over that time.2. Went live in over 100 countries including local payment options and multi-lingual systems and regulatory requirements.3. Grew the team to over 100 people worldwide.4. Went live with our first version in under 9 months (US and Canada only), and then expanded with monthly releases. 5. Created an Enterprise Architecture plan that integrated our system with external ones as well as our in-house SAP system. 6. Created the processes to ensure security and auditability of our systems and procedures.

As architect for the Microsoft.com community properties, I was responsible for creating a coherent underlying platform for properties that included blogs.msdn.com, forums.msdn.com, GotDotNet, chats and CodePlex. The core work that I did was enabling a set of social networking services that underly many of our web properties.

As Group Manager for the Visual Studio Data group, my teams produced the tools used inside of Visual Studio .NET, Office and SQL Server that surface data capabilities, as well as Visual FoxPro. Some of the better known projects that I was involved with included Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005, as well as some of the early Language INegrated Query (LINQ) work.

I joined Microsoft as a Lead Program Manager and Community Evangelist for Visual Basic .NET, driving community interests into Visual Basic .NET and enhancing the communication between the team and its customer base. While in this position, I received a Best Practice award for the techniques that I used and promulgated throughout the company that helped internal teams reach out to their customers directly.

GoAmerica is a public corporation that focuses on wireless data services. They acquired my company, Flash Creative Management in 2000. I was a member of the leadership team, and responsible for internal software development and operations.Managed multiple departments including: Internal Systems Development: Developed or acquired all internal systems including Order Management, Provisioning, Rating, Billing, Accounting, E-Commerce, Intranet, etc. Responsible for Application Enterprise Integration (AEI) across all systems using a common message queue backbone. Production Support: Managed all of the servers for internal systems ensuring that scalability goals were met and downtime minimized. Internal Help Desk: Provided desktops and support on systems for 320+ employees. Professional Services: Provided consulting services to enterprise customers. These services included Virtual Private Network setup, Microsoft Office programming, custom database development, large scale distributed systems development and decision support systems and data warehouse creation.

Flash was a company founded by myself and my partner that provided business and software consulting. Flash was listed in the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies for three years. We were acquired by GoAmerica Corporation under favorable terms in 2000.As a consulting company, focused on customer success (20% growth year over year in existing customers), employee development and standardization.Organized and managed the development, training and rollout of a mission-critical software solution for a division of an automaker. Project had been attempted for two years without success. Refocused and reinitiated project resulting in project completion in less than five months. Within first two weeks of rollout, productivity reached full previous levels. Initiated, directed and managed Best Practice teams with objective to design most effective method of delivering services and solutions. This resulted in the creation of formalized best practices in strategic and operational planning, project management, business process redesign, project estimation, requirements gathering, and new product development. Repackaged these best practices and redelivered them as consulting products.Motivated employees to author and market their knowledge, resulting in the publication of nine books in five years and roles as the resident technical experts on four Internet sites. Staff also delivered more than one hundred presentations during a five-year period and wrote more than forty articles for leading publications on an annual basis including the Harvard Business Review, American Management Association and Microsoft Corporation.Consulting clients included American Express, 3M Health Information Systems, Johnson and Johnson, Microsoft Corporation, Deloitte and Touche, the City of North Charleston, and the University of California.
