My undergraduate degree was in Environmental Science and I spent the first few years of my professional life as a consultant basically documenting the negative impacts of human activity on the environment. This ranged from ecological destruction to pollution of our soil, waterways and air and everywhere in between. It was depressing.It also set me on a path to find solutions.Thus began the transition from soil and groundwater scientist to ground source heat pump entrepreneur and GeoExchange Australia was founded.One problem. It wasn’t an active industry in Australia at the time so one had to be created at the same time as starting my first business.That was 2006. Am a bit older now. A lot more people know what a ground source heat pump is, there is an active industry (many of which we trained) and it is growing fast. Further, I have had the honour to work on some truly significant and award winning building projects across the country and into the Asia Pacific.
