I have been working in the field of mental health and well-being for more than seven years. I am a Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) trainer and the founder of ‘The Present Moment’, which aims to promote mental well-being through mindfulness-based interventions, especially MBCT. I am also the co-founder and former CEO of Psych Rich Wellness, a mental health platform that aims to provide affordable counselling and therapy in India. An avid educator and researcher, I believe in evidence-based practice and am a proactive researcher in the mental health field, with my research focused on emerging adults. Some of my current work explores the feasibility of sleep adaptation and light therapy for depression in college students in India, the role of daily stressors in suicidal ideation using a daily diary approach, and the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions in college mental health. I have many international collaborations, including with researchers from the University of California, San Diego, the University of California, Los Angeles, Miami University, and the University of Louisville. My work is specifically aligned towards self-administered, scalable, and affordable interventions for depression and its relapse. An MBCT practitioner, being trained at the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation and the Mindfulness Centre, Brown University, MBCT for depression, is at the centre of my research interests. I currently also serve as an Assistant Professor at the School of Liberal Studies and Media (SoLSM), UPES. A dedicated practitioner and MBCT trainer, I have also been a trainer for many organisations, including the Border Security Forces. My work intends to target the SDGs of good health and well-being, gender equality, and reduced inequalities, especially in low- and middle-income countries, with my research and work focused on the intersection of Global Mental Health, Mindfulness-based Interventions, and Depression.
