Yan-Zhen CHEN, is an associate professor in modern Chinese and member of research units EA 4195 TELEM (Textes, Littératures : Écritures et Modèles ; Bordeaux Montaigne University) since 2018. She currently lectures in the Department of Chinese Studies of Bordeaux Montaigne University. Her main research interests include the plurilinguail and pluricultural competence, the plurilingual repertoire, language policies, the didactics of plurilingualism and the teaching of Chinese as a foreign Language.Her Ph. D. thesis, entitled “The teaching of Chinese as a third or fourth foreign langue in a ‘classe de seconde’ in Alsace: the role of the plurilingual and pluricultural competence” aims to analyze whether the notion of plurilingual and pluricultural competence as it is currently defined is a relevant theoretical notion in this type of pedagogical context and how can teacher make use of student's plurilingual repertoire.
