The Public Interest Network includes the state Public Interest Research Groups, U.S. PIRG, state environmental groups in 29 states, Environment America, Environmental Action, Center for Public Interest Research, Toxics Action Center, Pesticide Watch, Green Century Capital Management, Green Corps, National Environmental Law Center, Frontier Group, Community Voters Project, Snowriders International, Accelerate Change, Voices for Progress and IMPACT. These organizations wield a full arsenal of time-tested strategies for change, including organizing, advocacy, research and policy analysis, litigation and socially responsible investing. Our mission is to build the power of citizens to move the world toward a greener, more fair, just and democratic future. Current campaigns include: working to stop dirty, destructive oil and gas drilling, protecting our rivers and streams, curbing global warming pollution and promoting clean, renewable energy, getting big money out of politics, reining in the high costs of healthcare and prescription drugs, and closing corporate tax loopholes to ensure corporations are paying their fair share.

Oversaw a legal team of 5 attorneys and 1 administrator, who provided legal counsel for the 150+ non-profit organizations in our network. Our team advised 501(c)(3)s, 501(c)(4)s, federal and state PACs, ballot issue committees, and LLCs, on a wide range of issues including non-profit compliance, campaign finance rules, election laws, employment law, benefits, lobbying, contracts, solicitation, intellectual property, and 1st amendment issues.

Work for Progress connects talented, smart, activist-minded jobseekers with the nation's leading nonprofit organizations and progressive campaigns. We are a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening progressive social change organizations that work for social justice, consumer protections, clean energy, and the environment.

Conducted voter targeting, list strategy, and data analysis for large-scale independent voter persuasion and voter turnout campaign in 15 states, on behalf of Progressive Future, Environment America, and Environment America Voter Action. Used tools such as Maptitude GIS software, Catalist, and VAN.

Led successful campaigns to protect public health from toxic chemicals. This included: research, advocacy writing, media work, policy development & strategy, legislative lobbying, public testimony, grassroots organizing, fundraising from foundations and major donors, staff recruitment, and oversight of program interns.

• Directed field canvasses to educate citizens, recruit members, collect public comments, and raise over $1M for environmental and social justice organizations• Recruited, trained, and managed teams of 1-3 Assistant Directors and up to 50 canvassers• Oversaw logistics & administration of campaign offices, including budget, payroll, transportation, and coordination with town clerks and police departments

Designed curriculum and taught high school courses in English and Spanish, wrote grants, and conducted teacher training workshops. Co-chaired girls' empowerment committee (GLOW), taught English and Environmental Education at Augustow summer program.
