Tax Responsibilities- Prepare and review complex federal, state and local income/franchise tax returns using Lacerte software - 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 5500, 990-PF- Prepare and review quarterly estimates and year-end projections for federal and state income tax extensions and estimated tax payments- Create and maintain various excel worksheets designed to keep track of partners’ tax basis and targeted capital accounts, income/loss allocations, sale/disposal of properties, foreign partner withholdings and gross-up distributions- Analyze partnership income and loss allocation under complex allocation scenarios, such as transfer and sale of partnership interests, sale and disposal of properties, and Section 754 step-up basis calculations - Respond to IRS and state tax authority inquiries - Perform tax research, including domestic and international tax law changes- Provide support for the analysis and implementation of tax planning and savings initiatives- Train and guide junior staff on various tax return preparation issues, work-papers preparation, firm’s policies- Facilitate day-to-day operations by managing invoices and administrative documentationAccounting Responsibilities- Run payroll and file all related employment tax reports, including Forms W-3 & W-2, Form 1099-MISC, Form 941, Form 940, TWC unemployment tax returns, and EFTPS deposits- Reconcile clients’ accounting files necessary for tax compliance, including calculating and creating book to tax difference adjusting entries and preparing work papers as supporting documentation for tax returns- Utilize QuickBooks and Sage 50 to do daily, monthly and yearly bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, invoice and payment, and compile financial statements- Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements- Prepare payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts
