My primary research interests lie at the intersection of metamaterials and machine learning, particularly exploring the new generation of metamaterials through machine learning. Under this research goal, I have worked on the design, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of metamaterial devices. I am also interested in optimizing and accelerating innovation for future prototypes of metamaterials, realizing their substantial potential in energy, sensing, and communication applications.

Lead undergraduate E&M lab with topics including the Transmission line, Impedance and Wave simulation using COMSOL.

⁤As a TA in the Optics Teaching Lab, I advise undergraduates to explore advanced optical equipment like HeNe and fiber lasers, LEDs, quantum dots, power meters, oscilloscopes, and various detectors (cameras, APDs, silicon detectors). ⁤⁤My role involves hands-on instruction and facilitating an understanding of optics. ⁤⁤My favorite part of the experience is witnessing students' moments of clarity, which is immensely gratifying. ⁤

At the Laboratory for Laser Energy, under the guidance of Dr. Papernov, my project focuses on employing nano-scale and micro-scale high-resolution imaging techniques. This work is instrumental in understanding thin film optical materials' optical and structural characteristics. Our fundamental interest lies in examining the spatial distribution of absorption and identifying strongly absorbing localized defects that impact the laser damage performance of optical elements. This experience, especially in pump-probe laser setups, deepens my knowledge of nanophotonics and optical materials and equips me with valuable skills for future research endeavors in these fields.

I wanted to explore the optical world as much as possible, so I had my summer internship at the IMAX R&D division. During the internship, I worked closely with an outstanding engineering team to develop laser projector prototype. My position allowed me to work independently on contrast and efficiency tests on Digital Micromirrors Devices (DMD) used for engineering and manufacturing departments. I quickly became proficient with the system and operation procedure and became in charge of testing and mounting all DMDs that would later be used in commercial IMAX laser projectors. Moreover, I streamlined the hardware automation and the data collection process, reducing the characterization time by at least 10%. This internship is my first real industry experience in the US and is exceptional. I had a great time working with my teammates and learning from the optical industry role models who have worked in the optical industry for over forty years.
