About Yang W.
🔀 https://zzyw.org/Yang Wang 汪洋 is an artist, writer, and coder, based in New York. His interdisciplinary practice encompasses computational works as well as philosophical writing about technology. He uses computation as both a creative medium and critical subject, recreating simulated environments to examine technology's sociocultural impacts. Wang writes criticism and theory analyzing technology's role. He was an artist-in-residence at Eyebeam (2023) and Pioneer Works (2020), and a member of NEW INC at the New Museum (2019-2020). His creative work has been exhibited at institutions including Rhizome, Power Station of Art in China, and the National Museum of China. He has taught courses on computational arts and simulation at The Cooper Union and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Wang holds an MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU and BFA in Artistic Design from University of Science and Technology Beijing.
