About Yanique Chambers, Lcsw/Ma

Did you start your career feeling excited and optimistic, but now feel exhausted and on the verge of burnout? Once upon a time, that was me.A month into my school social work position, I found myself overwhelmed with documentation and crisis calls. I was constantly trying to please everyone and rarely said 'No' to anything. I also put a lot of pressure on myself to be perfect at my job. As a result, my anxiety was through the roof and my inner critic was in full attack mode. It didn't take long before work stress spilled over into my home life. I was irritable and short-tempered with my husband and kids, leading to several angry outbursts. This wasnt how I wanted to show up. Something had to change.I started therapy and decided to learn everything I could about stress management. I learned a variety of strategies to help me set boundaries and realistic expectations. More importantly, I had a mindset shift for the better.I realized that self-care isn't selfish. It's essential. I started making myself a priority and became intentional about taking care of myself. I learned to say 'No' more often and to show myself more grace.I believe with a few small tweaks, you can be productive and successful in your career —without sacrificing your mental health.I'm a former burnt out professional turn wellness advocate serving as your go to online educator for all things burnout and stress management, including:➤Burnout Recovery➤Stress Management➤Self-Care➤Wellness ➤Personal Development𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦!--I'm currently in private practice at Yanique Chambers Counseling where I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, work-stress, racial fatigue, and feelings of low self-worth. As a child of Jamaican immigrants, I also aim to create a safe space to address the unique challenges of children of immigrants and people of color. --My passion for helping people led me to the digital education sector, where I launched my website, Kiddie Matters | School Social Work Made Simple to help overwhelmed school social workers:✅️Prioritize self care✅️Create work life balance✅️Recover from burnout✅️Empower kids with social emotional learning skillsI'm a holistic therapist and mental health educator on a mission to help perfectionists and people pleasers learn how to manage stress, so they can cultivate work life balance, stress less, and be successful in their careers.
