My internship is part of the Home to Texas program, an initiative by UT Austin designed to encourage alumni to bring their knowledge and skills back to their hometowns after graduation. I am working with the Economic Development Department, specifically focusing on the Main Street Program. This program aims to revitalize and support the economic growth of the town's main street, fostering local businesses and community engagement. Through this internship, I am gaining valuable experience in economic development and contributing to the sustainability and growth of my hometown.

I worked 24-36 hours per week while managing the demands of being a full-time student, which required a high level of attentiveness, punctuality, and hard work. My responsibilities included training new workers on policies, serving etiquette, and the menu, as well as ensuring customer satisfaction by providing assistance and confirming their orders. This job helped me adjust to multitasking effectively without compromising my academic performance.
