I am an Assistant Professor (AI Initiative) in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, College of Pharmacy, University of Florida. My research interest spans the fields of deep learning, AI-driven drug discovery, and computational biology, with a particular emphasis on deep generative modeling for de novo molecule design and geometric deep learning for molecular recognition. I aim to develop cutting-edge AI algorithms to address fundamental life science challenges with a broad scientific impact and to optimize and automate the real-world drug discovery and design pipeline.Before joining UF, I was a machine learning scientist at Calico Life Sciences, an Alphabet-founded R&D company for human aging research, and a senior research scientist at the Institute of Deep Learning (IDL), Baidu, USA. I have extensive research experience in artificial intelligence, machine/deep learning, Drug Discovery, Computational Biology, Precision Medicine, Bioinformatics and NLP.• Researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Ph.D. in Computational Science applying Machine Learning and Deep Learning methodologies to solve real-world problems. • 10+ years of research experience in building and deploying machine/deep learning models for high-impact and challenging life science and healthcare problems with publications in top conferences and journals. Deep understanding of machine/deep learning algorithms, such as CNN, RNN, GNN, and Transformers.• 10+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning tools (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn) and deep learning frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow, Keras).• 10+ years of programming experience with programming languages (Python, C/C++, Matlab, Java).• Rapid prototyping and executing the latest machine/deep learning techniques.
