- Acted as the technical/product lead on the PA DGS AquaLogic portal implementation. This implementation is part of the larger Commonwealth of Pennsylvania implementation, which is projected to have one million registered users once complete, and potentially ten million or more guest users. - Throughout the course of this project, I advised PA DGS on design and implementation. This includes homepage design and taxonomy designs.- I, along with other team members, conducted eighteen meetings with Bureau Directors, and more than fifteen focus group meetings, to collect more than two hundred individual requirements. This information was collected to facilitate the development of a two year plan for the DGS portal.- Created initial Community Taxonomy, initial Knowledge Directory Taxonomy, and Administrative Taxonomy. Performed an analysis of DGS Content, Applications, and existing Functionality as a basis for creating these structures.

Client: Eat-n-Park- Performed an analysis of the Eat-n-Park portal implementation. Provided recommendations about the project, including:- An analysis of other portals in the same industry.- Analysis and recommendation of portal upgrade.- Performed troubleshooting of existing portal issues, and provided resolutions to several issues. Troubleshooting of IIS and Tomcat server issues on Plumtree Servers.Client: J.M. Smucker Company- Performed an assessment of the current document storage situation at Smuckers. Made recommendations on ways to manage/access these documents from within the portal.- Proposed, won approval for, and began an implementation of a hybrid Plumtree Document Management model.- Fileshare Analysis – Evaluated and re-architected Smuckers fileshares to work better within the portal environment.- Plumtree 6 Upgrade Project- Recommendations and Analysis of upgrade issues relating to the portal upgrade and Collaboration Server.

XL Insurance Portal Relationship Manager, Collaboration Server Product Manager- I worked on a team supporting an international B2E Plumtree portal to all XL employees, distributed globally – with major concentrations of users in the US, Bermuda, and Switzerland.- Relationship Manager for Switzerland based business unit – XL Insurance. I supported the Switzerland team as their US representative for all portal issues and support. Responsible for coordinating work between the US and Switzerland teams.- Collaboration Server Product Manager. Managed the rollout of Collaboration Server to focus and testing groups throughout XL. - Member of Portal Upgrade team, which completed an upgrade of the Plumtree 4.5WS portal to the new Plumtree 5.0 framework.- Responsible for search analysis and management of search functionality. Developed strategy for the implementation advanced Plumtree search functionality, including “Best Bets,” to enhance users searching capabilities.

Independent Consultant – Portal Developer, Portal Administrator- I worked on a team developing and deploying an international B2E Plumtree portal to ILOG employees.- Information Architecture experience developing corporate Knowledge Directory. Worked with various groups and departments to determine requirements for the Knowledge Directory. User Interface design experience designing portal communities, and portlets.- Branding Campaign – Worked to brand and promote the ILOG portal. Designed posters for the portal launch, and other print and non-print marketing materials.- Training – Developed training materials, and performed portal training to groups of ILOG users. Trained general users on portal techniques and concepts and Community maintainers on advanced functionality.- Documentation – Wrote user and reference guides for Portal and Collaboration.

- At Alcoa I worked on a team developing and deploying an international B2E Plumtree portal to more than one hundred thousand Alcoa employees.- My Plumtree administration responsibilities include – registration/deployment of communities, gadgets, publications/crawlers, jobs/job servers, authentication sources, and other Plumtree administrative functionality.- Supported and worked actively with groups located in Brazil, Europe, and Australia. Supported the deployment of local implementations of the portal environment in these locations.- Information Architecture (IA) experience designing/deploying Alcoa’s IA for portal communities. Developed Alcoa’s approach for deploying communities and global gadgets. I work directly with customers to gather community requirements, setup communities and gadgets, and deploy custom functionality.- Perform administration/management of Microsoft Content Management Server (CMS.)

- During my time at Fisher, I managed and supported the content and user experience for Fisher HealthCare and Fisher Safety.- Developed web pages using JSP, HTML and JavaScript. Redesigned www.fisherhealthcare.com and www.fishersafety.com, enhancing the user experience, and increasing the amount of content available on the sites. Developed “LabPlace,” an online medical community designed to provide product details and important information to Fisher's HealthCare customers.- Developed Fisher's Domestic Preparedness site on www.fishersci.com. Served as project manager responsible for coordinating the development and design of this site, gathered information from product managers, performed technical development and user interface design.- Executed e-Marketing campaigns for Fisher Scientific, Fisher Safety and Fisher HealthCare. Created email newsletters to advertise products and provide information on pertinent topics to over 80,000 opt-in users.

- Worked on pilot phase and initial deployment of a Plumtree 3.5 portal to replace Allegheny Technologies’ corporate extranet. Responsible for custom User Interface design for the portal homepage, graphic design – including graphical elements affecting the complete user experience, usability analysis and basic Information Architecture.- Member of Allegheny Technologies eBusiness Team. Re-developed all Allegheny Technologies websites (spanning nine business units) to consolidate them into one corporate site – www.alleghenytechnologies.com. As a member of this team I helped to develop an eCommerce strategy for Allegheny Technologies and its subsidiary companies.
