I have always been someone who responds better to facts rather than emotion. My thought processes are very methodical and logical. Over the years I have learned to temper this logic with empathy and I have come to understand that I always have to consider what impact my actions will have on people’s lives. I believe that most people want to do the right thing, as a mentor it is my role to unlock that goodwill in staff and the desire to be the best that they can. I strongly believe that one should lead by example and that actions speak louder than words. My core strengths are attention to detail, financial acumen, change management, strategic planning and the ability to look at the bigger picture. I excel at a challenge especially if it is deemed as “too hard” for others. As financial controller I am very involved in developing senior staff in the dealership in their understanding of how they can identify and streamline enhancements in processes and system optimisation. An example is working with them to understand the key drivers in their departments. Another example is identifying expense control measures. By working with them rather than enforcing it on them they take ownership for their decisions, the success of their departments and ultimately the success of the overall dealership. As a consultant I utilize my past experience and in-depth knowledge of dealership business processes to advise on best practice and ways to streamline functions. As a systems analyst I use my 24+ years’ experience as well as my financial and systems experience to optimize system utilization. I also project manage new systems that is being implemented.
