Malta

As part of my university course, I conducted a 100-hour placement within Hilton Malta's HR department. My main roles and responsibilities was to take care in organising specific events for both team-members and guests including the brainstorming, meetings with HOD's, meetings and phone calls with contacts, editing of images, sending e-mails and making use of the allocated budget in ordering any necessary equipment. I was also given insight into the different roles and tasks within the HR Department.

6-month internship at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. Worked different shifts and in different departments during my time there varying from breakfast shifts, lunch & dinner shifts, and bar shifts. I also worked in the 'River Bar' during evenings and occasionally during group functions. I also had a few shifts in the coffee shop and in Room Service. I worked an average of 50-60 hours per week spread out on between 5-6 days on a full-time basis. I was given a lot of responsibilities during my internship such as managing a restaurant section serving a la carte, opening and closing the main bar, doing the cash-up at the end of the shift, stock-tacking once every month and training new employees.

Malta

As part of my ITS Diploma in Hotel Management course, I had to attend a once-per-week placement, carried out over 14 weeks at the Coastline Hotel as a front office attendant/trainee in Qawra. This placement helped me build and improve my communication skills with customers and employees and provided me with the knowledge and experience of working behind the front desk. I was tasked with the responsibilities of checking-in and checking-out guests, using Fidelio (a hotel software for reservations) whilst also dealing with guests complaints and acting upon them immediately.
