What drives me in this field of design, is the process of shaping an abstract, fuzzy idea into a tangible experience. It being a user-friendly product, an engaging packaging, or an insightful visual or instructions. All these designs have the possibility to create memorable moments that inspire, teach, enjoy, or connect people.Challenges I am often made responsible for and asked to solve are: How can my product with connect with my end-user and offer them a unique experience? These challenges can cover a wide range of aspects and processes ranging from research to ideation, design, and execution of an idea to a product. My studious nature and trial by doing attitude allow me to gladly take on these large creative challenges, through cycles of researching, designing, and testing. I always try to put effort in the presentation and communication of my work, to avoid it from being designed in a vacuum. Fortunately for me, my fondness for sketching was nurtured from the age of five, making it one of the natural ways I share my ideas. Over the years I have added drawing storyboards, modelling, and (digital or physical) prototyping products to this. This, not only to express my ideas, but also support others to shape theirs. I have become convinced that ideas should be made into a tangible experience as early as possible. In the remaining time, I enjoy exploring my creativity via sketching, logo, and graphic designs. I make graphic designs for friends, print these on a fancy paper and wrap them in homemade packaging before sending them. I am far from a star chef, but enjoy cooking varied, yet simple dishes. Cooking has become an instant rewarding experience of my creativity. I browse my local bookstores for books on design history, graphic arts, psychology, and management. But I also have a fascination for comics, admiring how story unfold in a visual manner. And explore YouTube for new sources of inspiration.
