Under general direction, devises, coordinates and oversees the community outreach programs for the seven MetroRapid lines and 27-mile commuter rail line (the “MetroRapid Lines and Green Line”) under development as part of Project Connect during the planning, design and construction of Austin Transit Partnership’s (ATP) capital projects, including as required under the National Environmental Policy Act (“NEPA”); serves as a liaison and point of contact between ATP and members of the community for any and all circumstances regarding capital projects; coordinates and provides public information about capital projects; coordinates and develops strategies, goals, and objectives for public involvement, public information, and community relations programs and activities; creates materials for communicating information to the public via a variety of media sources; responds to a variety of public inquiries and constituent concerns; and plans and staffs a variety of community outreach events; identifies issues that may impact or affect construction neighbors and take appropriate action to avoid or minimize problems; and responds to community questions and concerns in a timely manner.

• Co-Host multiple talk shows that center around political and social issues in the community• Provide a platform for listeners in the community to weigh in on community issues and crises • Interview public figures and political entities regarding current events • Responsible for booking guests to appear on different radio shows• Attend monthly meetings to discuss station goals and progress• Represent the radio station at community events • Maintaining professional relationships with advertisers and station affiliates

I am responsible for assisting the Manager for Community Involvement with programs that develop, maintain and strengthen community relationships. This is accomplished through a program of work in three (3) general areas: Community Involvement in Agency Decision-Making, Community Liaison, and Community Involvement Programs. This is accomplished by:• Serve as liaison to minority communities, including limited English language proficiency communities• Give presentations to educate the public on rail safety.• Assist with TRY TRANSIT (educational how-to-ride) training.• Coordinate community involvement projects designed to promote understanding of and reach informed consent on issues and problems related to products and services provided by Cap Metro.• Coordinate with the Manager of Community Involvement and other department staff to ensure the integration of community involvement efforts with other Capital Metro departments and partner transportation organizations. • Coordinate community meetings and events. • Work collaboratively with Marketing and Communications to design and develop materials for dissemination to the public at large.• Liaise with stakeholders (neighborhoods, businesses, community groups, institutions, etc.) to provide an active community presence for Capital Metro.• Gather community concerns and needs, and coordinate agency efforts to address those needs. • Troubleshoot operational issues, and recommend policy and procedure changes to improve customer satisfaction and increase community trust in Capital Metro.• Provide support for community involvement activities, events and meetings.• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

I am responsible for Community Engagement Team projects and programs to develop, maintain, and strengthen community relationships and to develop and implement strategies to educate the community about Capital Metro services that will build ridership. This is accomplished through a program of work in three (3) general areas: Community Involvement in Agency Decision-Making, Community Liaison, and Community Engagement Programs.

• Responsible for drafting letters to Legislators expressing the concerns of the organization• Researching Legislative bills and testifying at various hearings• Creating several PowerPoint presentations for branches statewide for community and organizational education • Frequently attend meetings with state legislatures to discuss community issues and possible resolutions• Create Legislative Action Alerts to send to members • Speak at press conferences on behalf of the organization • Research information for State officers and branches• Maintain the day to day functions of the State office• Create partnerships with community and grassroots organizations by supporting like-minded initiatives and attending meetings and events• Attend Quarterly meetings with various state branches • Work with our Corporate Advisory board on civil rights issues important to the local community• Provide staff support at state convention and to all officers, branches & executive committee members• Assessing the impact of in the community and leading efforts to investigate in crisis situations such as the Sandra Bland case in Waller County• Assessing to the concerns of local citizens who feel they are the victims of hate crimes or civil rights violations and assisting in finding as well as executing suitable resolutions• Managing and training interns• Helping to plan and conduct workshops discussing organization initiatives for the annual NAACP State Conference
