Before joining Fall Line, Yanniv spent over two years at AgFunder, a VC firm that invests in the food and agriculture sectors. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Stanford University, where he studied novel plant membraneless organelles and their roles in environmental sensing. His research was published in Cell and featured on the cover of the journal, as well as highlighted in Science, Nature Plants, Nature Chemical Biology, PNAS, Developmental Cell, and Molecular Plant. Additionally, he was awarded the Charles Yanofsky Prize for "most outstanding graduate student working in the field of molecular biology" by Stanford. Prior to his Ph.D., Yanniv worked on multiple research projects in different areas of plant biology at Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, and the Weizmann Institute of Science. His work earned him two prestigious fellowships at Stanford, and he was selected as an American Society of Plant Biologists scholar. In 2019, Yanniv was included in Forbes 30 Under 30: Science and Healthcare Europe. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Biology from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, where he was admitted with the competitive "Normalien" fellowship.
