My primary responsibility was designing and implementing Go code architecture across all departments of the company. I also played a key role in mentoring developers, guiding them in writing efficient Go code, and migrating existing services to a new architectural style.I developed a company-wide code architecture that addressed significant challenges with the existing system. The previous codebase was large, unstructured, difficult to understand, and maintain. It lacked test coverage and was challenging to extend. Due to this complexity and the absence of consistent coding standards, implementing changes took significant time, leading to repeated test failures and frequent bugs reaching production.I introduced best practices, including integrating tracing and profiling systems that help the team diagnose issues more effectively. After implementing the new architecture, the code became much simpler and more maintainable. The amount of business logic was reduced through the use of libraries I developed, and the codebase is now over 90% covered by unit tests. Additionally, we introduced integration tests to verify interactions with external systems and API functionality.The results were significant:- Development time for business logic decreased by approximately 40%.- The number of issues returned after testing dropped by 4x, and bugs reaching production were halved.- Onboarding new team members became twice as fast.I achieved this by personally rewriting three key services, conducting thorough research to select the most effective available technologies, developing around 10 libraries to streamline the work of developers, and deeply optimizing the testing process, making tests more efficient and easier to maintain.
