Optimizing product images on Superbrowse pages on Wayfair US:Developed Thompson Sampling Multi-Armed Bandit (a Reinforcement Learning technique) to efficiently recommend best product images to display on the Superbrowse pages across all product classes (700+). Deployed the model in Airflow and designed the overall test plan. Test led to an estimated incremental of ~ $20 million GR(S)/year.

• Created a tool (“Company Snapshot”), based on multiple NLP techniques, to help job seekers digest millions of employee reviews on Glassdoor, and deployed the result to a Flask web application running on an AWS EC2 server • Applied Latent Dirichlet Allocation with MALLET implementation and Non-Negative Matrix Factorization for topic modeling and discovered new topics in employee reviews• Performed sentiment analysis for each sentence under identified topics and assigned appropriate ratings to the topics

Characterizing the Cosmic Infrared Background Fluctuations(A data-driven analytical PhD Project, funded by NASA Astrophysics Data Analysis Program) • Wrote a master pipeline for end-to-end data analysis, including automatically downloading, storing, and reducing ~TB size images from NASA archive database• Developed a deconvolution algorithm to iteratively identify, model, and remove numerous faint sources in the images that otherwise would be buried in background noise• Performed anomaly detection and Fast Fourier Transform analysis to recognize different patterns in the images• Built a least-squares regression model, combined with sampling over a wide range of spatial scales and grid search for best parameters, with Monte Carlo simulation for error estimation• Developed scripts to make publication-ready plots and tables, with visualizations about the intermediate data products• Presented results in 7 international conferences, 5 major peer-reviewed papers (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=e9DI_O0AAAAJ&hl=en)
