My research focuses on improving the hydrophilicity of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) , which is a material has diverse biomedical applications, such as contact lens, pacemaker encapsulant, artificial skin and etc. The modification method used in our lab is to adsorb poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVOH) onto PDMS substrate. The effectiveness of the method is characterized by various analytical instruments, including ellipsometer, goniometer and atomic force microscope.

In order to examine the effect of climate change on the physiology and life habits of fiddler crabs on the east coast. Our lab group collected fiddler crabs along the east coast. Inside the lab, we compared the body structures and health conditions of these fiddler crabs collected from different locations and time periods, and by analyzing the data, we reach a conclusion on how has climate influenced these marine residents.
