Providing bill of quantity and volume based on drawing that sent by project owner or engineering consultant.

As the Professional Quantity Surveyor has the responsibility in tele-working project (Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Cairo Egypt, Czechoslovakia, Dutch and British) and local project for example as QS staff at Grand Indonesia Mall and office project. Our target is making an accurately measurement for quantity measuring for any kind of contract like cost planning, pre-tender, post-contract with Value Engineering expenditure to deliver best value outcomes for clients.. The measurement is including structural, architecture and M/E. All activities are using traditional method (taking-off) and computer system (input/output) in spreadsheet for BQ (BQ Submission). Actually, we usually compare the result both traditional method and computer processing (AutoCAD) to make the better result. I know about several methods in quantity measurement system in this company which it to be used in. SMM7 for British Project and POMI is used by another project like Dubai Sport City Project, WTC Dubai, and Golden Plaza Egypt etc.

As Quantity Surveyor for Construction Management Consultant have responsibilities in supporting the client in checking or controlling/sharing the invoicing document from all contractors (Structure, architect and M/E) including monthly invoicing/main contract or variation order using value engineering method. The point is making an accurately measurement for monthly progress report based upon the drawing (status; for tender, for construction, for information) and compare it with progress report from contractor submitted, with consist of working volume per month and compare it to the basic volume in BQ (Bill of Quantity) and making a good coordination between Consultant, Owner and Contractor. The best achievement in this company is making the procedure in measurement (standard form) using spread sheet with formula to do the best effort in measuring the quantities. Otherwise, I ever got the experience in checking the quality of material from The lab-test for the test of ready mix (slump test, strength in 7 days, 14 days and 28 days) and steel bending etc.

Main Project : Toll Road Project JORR (Jakarta Outer Ring Road)-Total Cost : Rp. 1300 Billion (USD 520,000,000), Foundation/Piling/Bore pile cost : Rp.130.00 Billion (USD 52,000,000) As Deputy Site Manager have the responsibility to make the better result in scheduling system/coordination between site office (planning), site (actual) and factory (supplier). Sometime, I make engineering measurement (piling design/foundation design from soil investigation) for the tender proposal. As Engineer have responsibility in field operation and always prepared the best thing to solved the engineering problem on site like failured in pile driving (displacement) etc. The best target is making project scheduling including material, man power, equipment and drawing (updating shop drawing/for construction etc) in engineering as preliminary approval and construction extensive use of AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project 2000 and various software program (piling design).
