  • Duke University
    Graduate Research Assistant
    Duke University Jan 2013 - Dec 2017
    Durham, North Carolina, Us
    - Carried out the first study of photons scattered off an atom in front of a mirror.- Systematically investigated the nonlinear effects for different number of distant atoms coupled to the waveguide.- Provided a method for calculating photon spectra using the scattering formalism that is in good agreement with experiments in the weak-pumping limit.- Carried out the first study of time-dependent, multi-photon scattering calculation in waveguide QED.My work focused on light-matter interactions at the quantum level, in particular few photons in low dimension strongly interacting with few local emitters (atoms, qubits, etc). I have investigated the onset of photon correlations and momentum redistribution due to inelastic scattering under a variety of setups, such as multiple atoms lined up in a one-dimensional waveguide. I am best known in the field of waveguide quantum electrodynamics (QED).Advisor: Professor Harold U. Baranger
