Our organization is multi-directional: We aspire to organically strengthen the Afghan community. We aim to achieve this by uniting, developing, and inspiring British Columbia’s community of young Afghan professionals and aspiring professionals. Our organization’s objectives are founded upon the pillars of fun, friendship, and community. FUN. Time is a limited resource. As such, we must make the most use of it. Having fun is the linchpin of our organizational success and we strive to infuse enjoyment in every event and activity.We will regularly organize diverse social events and activities where members will have an opportunity to grow their network, develop and foster friendships, and most importantly, have some quality fun. FRIENDSHIP.Afghans are inherently social. It only makes sense that as professionals, we reach out and connect with our like-minded peers to form lasting friendships that aid in both our personal and professional lives. Our intention is to be a hub that unites our community and forge cohesion through the power of friendships. We aim to create an atmosphere that our members deem warm, welcoming, and upbeat to provide the origins for the formation of friendships and professional connections.COMMUNITY.Our organization will strive to provide personal growth opportunities by focusing on instilling the values of giving back. We aspire to provide avenues for members passionate about social enterprise to elevate both the growing local Afghan community and Afghans abroad. As a further means of promoting civic engagement, we undertake to provide a safe and authentic platform that both educates and empowers members by addressing community issues and increasing cultural and cross-cultural consciousness.
