Writing wasn't love at first sight. My childhood dream was to become a scientist and create an all-time cure so that everyone I love could live forever. You can imagine how thrilled my parents were! Perhaps, this also explains my 'Twilight' era later on...My fascination with words and narratives came later and has never left since. From hobbies like writing poetry to two Literature degrees and professional experience crafting stories for and about different brands, I have chosen to engage with the written word in a meaningful way every day. It has been an incredibly exciting and rewarding journey so far!English has become second nature to me after studying in the United States and pursuing my postgraduate degree in England. During my time at Lancaster University, I had the thrilling experience of bringing a book to life by taking it through the stages of editing, funding, printing, and presenting it alongside a wonderful team. This was not my first self-publishing experience. Before that, I co-created a poetry pamphlet with a talented illustrator, which holds a special place in my heart as it marked many of my 'firsts' - curating, liaising, marketing, and presenting my work to an audience.I find it enjoyable to explore the industry from both sides: it was very exciting to see some of my favourite poetry pieces published in 'Ink Sweat & Tears' and 'swim press' as well as included in several anthologies and university journals. While it is unlikely that I will ever invent an all-healing cure, I have found great joy in being part of the industry that has gifted the world with many terrific and life-changing stories - and I really hope to contribute to one of them, too. I am more than happy to connect here or via email (stepurovaya@gmail.com) to discuss copywriting, publishing, literature - and, yes, Twilight!🦇
