I work on improving a computer vision model that's used by many of the top association football teams in Europe (including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris-Saint-Germain amongst many others) to digitally replace billboard advertisements in live broadcasts for various regional broadcasters. Our model is efficient and accurate, and is able to provide live ad-replacement by processing frames in real-time (~ 12 ms per frame). I've aided in improving all aspects of the product, including:- streamlining our data annotation tools and using larger offline models to review our existing data and clean it significantly, leading to measurable improvements in accuracy across a number of our detection classes (balls, humans, crossbars)- modifying our model architecture to leverage temporal data, leading again to significant improvements in accuracy while remaining computationally efficient. - conducting exploratory data analysis projects leading to key insights in weaknesses in our existing annotated data.- Simplifying our model's GPU optimization strategies and integration with our client's broadcasting software, leading to simplified in-game operations and a faster pre-game calibration process.Individually, I was successful in adding regional-based threshold controls for in-game finetuning of our model's output, thereby significantly reducing false-positive and false-negative outputs of our model, keeping our company at the forefront of this competitive field.

- I taught various math courses (high-school level mathematics, calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics) to students of all ages, ranging from 17 years old to 70 years old.- I was involved in numerous departmental and faculty committees, including the mathematics hiring committee and the Science Program Committee which was instrumental in conducting an overhaul of the program to better prepare our students for the modern state of science-based academia.- I was the Continuing Education representative on the executive council of the Dawson Teacher's Union. In this role, I helped fight for the rights of my colleagues and helped secure significantly improved working conditions for contract teachers like myself.
