Assumed Welding Engineering Technologist Student role and participated in case study reviews and individual & group initiatives. Studied various coursework that included inspection methods, non-destructive inspection, project management, codes & regulations, failure mitigation & research, weld and design practices. Project Management: Presided over design, fabrication & inspection of pressure vessels — reviewed quality requirements & client specifications, calculated shell thickness, pressure head radius & stress application on shell seams. Ensured compliance with ABSA & ASME codes, prepared isometric drawings, ITPs – inspection test plans and weld maps for pressure vessels. Identified NDE & hydro testing requirements and created MTRs.  Quality Management: Ensured compliance with ABSA and ASME VIII & B31.3 — created document material requirements, examined electrodes, prepared purchase orders, validated material test reports & heat numbers and orchestrated cost estimates. Administered pressure vessel fabrication, adopted GMAW, SMAW & SAW welding methodologies and utilized oxyacetylene torch cutting & plasma cutting techniques. Welding Inspection: Reviewed quality requirements for the production of aboveground piping spools — examined piping spool designs, assessed isometric drawings & P&IDs and prepared cost estimates. Developed ITPs – inspection test plans, WPS – welding procedure specifications and PQR – procedure qualification records.
