In the Surgical Labs, researched the use of Transamniotic Nucleic Acid Therapy as a delivery method for fetal administration of human CFTR mRNA for meconium ileus and respiratory complications associated with cystic fibrosis using a pregnant rat model: - Assisted in surgeries to inject CFTR mRNA encapsulated in lipopolyplex nanocomplexes to fetal amniotic fluid- Harvested lung, gut and heart tissue from fetuses, newborns and mothers- Screened and analyzed presence of CFTR proteins via sandwich type ELISA- Wrote and edited abstracts and presentations for conferences and publication

Bronchoscopy and Interventional Radiology Department Observed and assisted doctors, nurses, and clinical care team in procedures as well as pre-operative and post-operative care. Procedures worked on include minimally invasive lung volume reduction, diagnostic bronchoscopy, cone-beam CT guided bronchoscopic lung biopsy, and endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA). Led research project on patient anxiety and discomfort during EBUS-TBNA procedures when under conscious sedation compared to general anesthesia.
