I completed my final semester working as a design intern at L&T - MHPS Turbine Generator Systems (LMTG). In this internship, I had dual role - as a design intern and as an industrial intern:As a design intern, I worked on making unified LP turbine as opposed two mirrored LP1 & LP2 turbines. These would lead to reduction of about 8.5% costs (manufacturing and maintenance) of the project. Following were my responsibilities- 1. Understand the in-depth workings of Low Pressure (LP), Intermediate Pressure (IP) and High Pressure (HP) turbines. 2. Convert the LP1 & LP2 turbine design drawings into 3D models in SolidWorks.3. Collaborate with design engineering team (L&T and Mitsubishi) to understand the required changes to be made.As an industrial intern, it was my job to shadow Mr. Hemal Mistry (Detail Design Engineer) and assist him in his day to day job. Following were my responsibilities -1. Converted Turbine Blade 2D drawings into 3D models using NX 92. Used SAP ERP to convert BoM to Purchase Requisitions and purchase orders.3.
