Social Commerce uses social media to drive eCommerce on marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon: • Set up and Managed Inventory using Intuit and Amazon’s inventory management tools. Also created and managed items using Amazon’s item definition, merchandizing and MYI (“Manage Your Inventory”) applications. • Created multiple product or domain specific Social Media assets, deal websites, blogs, and mailing lists with more than 300,000 followers or subscribers that were utilized to sell thousands of physical and digital products every week through Amazon marketplace. The business generated $900,000 in gross product sales in 2015. Also, managed purchase/sale of 10mm+ in equity, bonds and derivatives in personal, family and corporate accounts, including private placement and convertible bonds of early and late stage startups. Past private Investments include DeCarta (acquired by Uber), more.com (Acquired by HealthCentral.com), and several others.

I managed the development group of 30 developers involved in development of Decision Point®, an automobile medical bill re-pricing and bill management system available via the Web as a Multi-tenant SaaS service. 80% of the top auto insurance companies including State Farms, All State, Progressive, GEICO and several others used Mitchell’s Decision Point product. The product was offered both using the traditional licensing and cloud computing models, where the customers could pay as they use (per bill) and scale as they go. We used technologies such as server virtualization and HP PolyServ matrix to provide the elasticity needed to quickly ramp up based on customer loads.

I led the design, development and rollout of the web edition of m2o, a guided selling solution that was deployed at Lowe’s and Home Depot. I came up with technology architecture, engineering and testing the product to ensure that it can withstand the combined heavy traffic from several thousand stores and tens of thousands of consumers by stringent testing and performance engineering.

I managed the Item Merchandising Applications development group which was responsible for the managing and extending the website "browse" functionality and developing seller side applications used by merchants and retailers using the Amazon Seller platform. My accomplishments at Amazon include ensuring the scalability, reliability and timely release of advanced browse functionality ("Attribute based Navigation") and extension of Amazon Seller platform to 15000 SMB sellers and merchants.

I managed the Product development, QA and operations groups at Televoke, a provider of location based services. Our software was developed / deployed using J2EE, Oracle and Avaya’s voice processing technologies and had both web and voice interfaces. Under my leadership, we replaced the custom development model for implementations with data driven customization, thus significantly reducing implementation time and effort. In addition, we achieved a increase in system availability to 99.96% from 98%, increase in throughput by a factor of 8, and substantial improvement in page response time. The company was successfully acquired by de Carta, a leading provider of LBS solutions to companies such as Verizon, T-Mobile, IBM, OnStar and more.

I managed the PeopleTools product development team at PeopleSoft. PeopleTools provides a J2EE based platform for and deploying PeopleSoft’s CRM and ERP applications. My team played a crucial role in PeopleSoft's reinvention and delivery of PeopleSoft8, replacing the older client server infrastructure with the one based on pure Internet Architecture. PeopleTools platform include various Business Intelligence Tools, tools for Portal Technologies, web services and integration technologies, workflow, wireless devices and System Management. Development in my group was done in Java and C++. The product supported multiple application servers, RDBMS and operating systems, including WebLogic, WebSphere, Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, and Windows, HP/UX, Solaris, AIX, and Compaq Tru64 Unix.My key responsibilities included providing technical leadership to my team, setting product direction and vision, guiding release schedule and content, setting up processes to enable release quality software on time and within the budget, and organizing for success and hiring for key positions.
