Many small businesses are stuck with outdated websites or lack the time to understand evolving marketing trends like social media. I help these clients leverage design and content tools to stay relevant in a technologically challenging atmosphere.

Zardozi began as a dream between three friends who wanted to tell the story of South Asian women from the context of a global perspective. Growing up in North America, we had stories to tell, but we didn’t see or hear many voices similar to ours in the media. So we created our own platform to share a unique, yet powerful perspective. South Asian women across the globe now had a place to encounter experiences similar to theirs, thus connecting a new community of positive, thoughtful, and accomplished readers and storytellers.As Design Director, I wore many hats starting with managing the design and branding of the magazine. For the first six issues, I created a cohesive look and feel, exuding the modern, professional, and fashion forward woman Zardozi represents. I also contributed to 30+ stories, including designer interviews, fashion trend analyses, and a travelogue to Rajasthan, India. In support of our Managing Director, I drove global readership by identifying viral growth opportunities, blogger collaborations, and designer and PR partnerships.Zardozi is committed to keeping our business on track with evolving market trends. To reach readers more regularly, I led the design transition of Zardozi from a print magazine to a multi-faceted web portal. This included creating wireframes, completing web design, and ensuring development was consistent with our modern design and vision for the future.

After receiving my MBA, working at Momentum allowed me to apply my business acumen in the creative industry — two things that I am passionate about. For my largest project, I managed the creation of a multi-faceted web portal for American Express, which targeted over a million small business owners. This involved project management across different creative departments and overseeing a large and evolving budget. In addition to other account projects, I also developed multiple creative briefs to pitch over a hundred thousand dollars in new business. By anticipating client needs, I developed key strategies to enhance their digital platforms and grow audiences.

Working as a government analyst vastly enhanced my research, writing, and strategic forecasting skills. Over the course of four years, I drafted 100+ written assessments and presentations on 25+ countries, which informed the top echelons of U.S. military leadership, including the U.S. Vice President and Secretary of Defense.I was awarded the Deputy Director of Intelligence’s coin as well as the agency-wide Award for Excellence. These awards recognized my outstanding work for measuring progress toward counter-extremism efforts worldwide. The latter award identified me as one of the top analysts in my grade in 2008.
