Leader of the Site Environment, Health and safety Team at the Bristol-Myers Squibb New Brunswick site. As part of the Facilities Operations organization, my team develops and implement systems, programs and procedures to ensure a safe workplace, compliant operations and environmentally responsible management of our activities. I also facilitate periodic discussions among my colleagues at the other Facilities managed sites to ensure consistent EHS programs and leverage resources. What excites me most about my job is the opportunity to work across functional groups and departments toward a common goal of an injury free and compliant workplace.

Directs site EHS functions at major Pharmaceutical Research & Development facility. Lead site EHS team consisting of EHS program managers and contracted technical support. Work with site business partners to ensure that EHS processes balance business risks, customer expectations, and compliance to achieve site operational success. Key accomplishments include:• Lead site through a Safety culture improvement process including developing business case, engaging site executive council, developing and obtaining approval for action plans and formation of grassroots teams addressing key issues identified.• Lead Site EHS team through the change management to an outsourced integrated facility management model. Ensure EHS technical task were effectively transferred to the service provider while maintaining site state of compliance. • Proposed creation and lead multi-site EHS leadership team to ensure consistent approach to managing EHS programs within the Facilities organization.• Facilitated EHS integration of two strings of pearls acquisitions of sites in California and Washington to achieve EHS alignment while maximizing on acquired site strengths.• Lead the EHS team in conducting reviews, preparing required permit application and obtaining timely permits to ensure continued site operations (e.g. Title V renewal, several Title V significant modifications, NJPDES DSW and DGW, Land Use permits, UST closures, Water Allocation).

Responsibilities include develop programs, deliver technical support, and leverage opportunities for EHS integration and business success in the areas of hazardous materials transportation compliance, fleet and global office and field employees’ safety. Facilitated improvements in safety performance for US field sales that led to significant reduction in work-related injuries and days away from work.

Led a diverse and multi-disciplinary team in the re-design of the EHS Evaluation process. Led EHS evaluations at BMS facilities and monitor action plans through closure. Procure and manage external EHS auditing services for selected evaluations. Developed system to communicate information and trends obtained from EHS evaluations. Facilitated business risk assessment process and development of EHS risk response plans.

Led efforts for integration activities and coordination between former DPC locations and BMS including permits transfers and EHS program orientation.

Managed the Environment, Health, and Safety Regulatory Compliance Program including evaluation of EHS performance indicators, internal EHS audit program and providing implementation support to sites. Led cross-functional team of EHS coordinators and facilitate company EHS Steering Committee in presenting and evaluating EHS performance and developing program goals and objectives. Liaison with the DuPont corporate Safety, Health, and Environmental group. Led activities to ensure DPC’ EHS programs were in alignment with corporate standards.

Designed internal compliance audit program to evaluate facilities against compliance with environment, health, safety, radiation safety, and hazardous material transportation requirements. Developed extensive audit tools, including audit checklists, tracking systems and auditor training program. Monitored regulatory developments, evaluated impact to company operations and led efforts to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

Established EHS management systems for a major facility expansion and ongoing operations. Procure environmental permits in support of major expansion project. Participated in corporate team that developed EHS standards for the joint venture.

Development and implementation of EHS programs for the site, including EHS procedures, training, permitting, incident management, and emergency response. Development and implementation of solid waste management programs. Permit negotiation for thermal oxidizer as site-wide air pollution control strategy.

Development and implementation of water, air, solid and industrial hygiene programs for regulatory compliance for government agencies, and pharmaceutical, medical devices, and electronics companies. Detailed review of pharmaceutical process and operating procedures to prepare environmental assessments and permit applications. Safety and Industrial hygiene audits planning and execution. Liaison with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients.
