Developing a service that helps shoppers track their carbon footprint, recieve suggestions for greener alternatives and gain rewards for trying them (with no extra steps whatsoever! Sustainable choices made easy and rewarding). This has received interest from several supermarket chains in the UK. It uses a comprehensive carbon footprint data base which relies on data and mathematical models for supermarkets. Won the Samsung Solve for tomorrow competition in second place, where i received funding, business mentoring and a space in the Start Up Discovery School incubator for 4 months. CarbonTrac was also recognized as a top 100 Startup in the UK by Santander X, within 3 months of establishment, and has also recently won the Technology award in the prestigious London Mayor's Entrepreneurship Competition in 2024. I’ve been awarded a UN ITU fellowship to support me in building CarbonTrac.

Steering Committee Member

Ucl

As a member of the UCL ESD (education for sustainable development) Steering Group, I contributed to developing a cross-disciplinary program aligned with UN SDGs. My work involved addressing issues like timetabling, inclusivity, and marketing, aiming to empower 50,000 students at UCL and create positive change. It was a humbling experience collaborating with world class academics for a more sustainable future.I was honored to have been invited by the Pro Vice Provosts to join the Personal Tutoring Steering Group at UCL. Our goal was to reform personal tutoring by introducing a new framework, making it more effective and beneficial for students. I suggested innovative approaches to enhance personal tutoring, which are being implemented and advocated for changes that would ensure every student receives meaningful support and guidance from their personal tutor throughout their time at UCL.

Engineering Sciences Faculty Representative

Ucl

I had the privilege of working closely with the head of faculty, meeting monthly to discuss concerns raised by student reps and other faculty-related matters. As an active member of the Faculty Education Committee, my reports on student feedback were valuable in shaping discussions around online versus in-person learning. I also suggested a new approach to Continuous Module Dialogue (CMD) which the department heads were fond of, so it was later adopted. I also proposed a student-driven solution to address timetable clashes. I thought it would be great if students could have a say in whether certain modules could be taught online for the next cohort. This meant attending meetings, co-chairing SSCCs, engaging in discussions, and advocating for a better experience for students at UCL.I had monthly catch-ups with the head of faculty sharing student concerns and feedback on timetabling, continuous module dialogue, assessment and feedback, newsletters, SoRAs and careers. I had the chance to conduct extensive surveys, write reports, develop meeting agendas and create PowerPoints, all while working with world-class academics.
