Coming into college, I had my mind set on studying engineering. It was what I was used to and I had committed many years of my life to studying the subject. I excelled at it, but I always felt like there was something missing. I questioned how I could be so good at something, yet want something more.Fast Forward a few years, I started working in the restaurant industry. I learned that I was interested in knowing how these corporations work. How could it be that they could predict times when there was heavy foot traffic or how could they predict how many sales they were going to make? This intrigued me to learn about all of the "behind the scene" details. It was at this moment that I knew studying business and administration was my calling. A sales representative or manager needs to know their demographics and how they can accommodate/ bring in new clientele. I saw my vision for wanting to expand a company and have connections with the guests. In order to learn how demographics and clientele work, I have completed online simulations that mimic posting content on social media. I was amazed to see how I could sell a product or service and generate revenue, simply by studying audits and other important details. Being personable and learning how your company or brand wants to be perceived helped me connect and reach out to so many people. This is what I plan to do, once I receive my Bachelor's degree. I have experience in being able to be personable with guests while giving them a great experience. Having first hand experience in restaurants has helped me understand the wants and needs of guests. I plan to use these skills to be able to market and sell products online.
