About Yasmin Jade Fraser

Throughout my life, I have always been inquisitive about fashion as an art form, which is constantly evolving. The endless opportunities that fashion provides to individuals for self-expression and presenting themselves to the world have always been fascinating to me. My eight-year-long journey of studying and interning has revealed my passion to become a reality. My professional background in the hospitality industry has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of business structures. As I moved up the ladder to assist with events and marketing, I gained valuable insight into how companies grow and the best path to success in business. In preparation for the launch of my brand, YJF, I have been meticulously researching the fashion industry. I have been analyzing daily consumer trends, assessing potential competitors, seeking out new and creative minds, and staying as up-to-date as possible on the industry to ensure my brand is in line with these considerations. My educational background and professional skills combine harmoniously with my passion for fashion, enabling me to create and launch my brand successfully.Passion never sleeps, and I don't either while preparing to launch YJF.

  • Universal Hotels
    All Rounder / Marketing Manager
    Universal Hotels 2018 - Present
During this time, the company had expanded and now become Universal Group. I came back to work for the Universal Group, where I assist them as an all-rounder.In this role I was moved around their venues, helping co-ordinate venues, their staff, and their events, which included pop-up events. As an all-rounder, I would assist at any universal venue that needed my assistance. I am very hardworking and enjoy a challenge, and no matter where they would place me I would go with it and break into the role. Eventually, I was placed back at the Civic Hotel, where I used to manage before taking my break to focus on studies. I used the knowledge gained in school using CAD and adobe suite to move into the role of marketing for the Civic Underground.I have been privileged to gain a lot of experience in the running and coordinating for the Universal Group and the other Universal venues. Working in this role has taught me business skills, and has made me confident that I have the business sense to start my own brand.

    Team Manager
    Civic Hotel 2015 - 2016
    388 Pitt Street, Sydney 2000
I began working at the Civic Hotel as a Customer Service Attendant in 2015, where I stayed in the position for 6 months while also completing my studies. In just under six months in my position, the owners were impressed by my work ethic and found my a valuable employee, and promoted me to the Manager of the Civic Underground. The Civic Underground is a boutique nightclub within the Civic Hotel that hosted many international and national musicians and DJ acts. As a manager, my duties included but weren’t limited to staff rostering, monitoring of staff performance, staff training, the setup of the venue for performers and international guests, stock intake, and cash handling, including the end of night balance and cash flow through the event. Additionally included in my duties was the booking of performers, and after my promotion to manager there was increased patronage from these events. The increased patronage meant that the owners undertook a refurbishment of the venue to cater for the larger number of customers.
