 Installs and configures server hardware and software on physical and virtual servers running Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, VMware ESX, Virtual Center, and others. Troubleshoots Windows and ESX server OS issues; independently utilizes all available resources (knowledge bases, online resources, etc.) to ensure timely resolution of server issues. Follows operating procedures and utilizes established support tools for analysis and reporting requirements. Performs regular system maintenance, hardware and software upgrades, physical to virtual migrations and performance tuning. Interfaces with Network Engineers, Database Administrators and Application Teams to optimize systems use and configuration. Provides installation support for new applications and software releases. Interfaces with hardware vendors to maintain and schedule repair of equipment in a timely manner and /or provide hardware repair and maintenance as required. Ensure/implement the rigorous application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of Systems, Applications and/or Services (Hardware & Software). Monitor VMware infrastructure and provide early warning of abnormalities and security vulnerabilities. End User / desktop support. Responsibilities also include system administration, engineering, provisioning, operation, maintenance and support.  Establishes network specifications, analyzing network needs and issues, secure information, and security requirements  Participate in a 24x7x365 third-level support team, take calls on a rotating basis, and be prepared to facilitate solutions for production technologies.
